BLUF: Outstanding food, excellent, friendly staff, and plenty of room at every table so one doesn't feel like the walls are closing in on him or her. Great dining experience! Highest recommendation! Went on 08/18/2024 around 5:45 PM. We three were seated immediately without a reservation, though the place was packed by the time we left (we got very lucky for NYC). The first thing one noticed after the friendly greeting at the door was the fact that the restaurant had adult-sized tables and chairs and enough space between them so that one didn't feel as though he or she was trying to eat a nice meal in a packed subway car. NYC has some of the finest food in the world, but one can't enjoy it due to unbearable overcrowding. This restaurant doesn't have that problem. Now speaking of enjoyment, the food here is outstanding. Everything is freshly made on-site including the pita bread for dipping into the fresh Baba Ganoush. The thick slice of salmon on the Salmon Niçoise Salad was slightly crunchy for the first 1/2 millimeter and then exploding with fully cooked but juicy, tender, succulent meat from top to bottom. It couldn't have been cooked any more perfectly. The lamb shank was full of flavor as it slid right off of the bone with the slightest touch of a fork - again, cooked to perfection. Everything put on our table was an absolute culinary delight. We had a very pleasant waitress, and we even spoke to the manager who was a personable fellow even though his restaurant was exceedingly busy at that time. He was able to chat for a bit before he had to get back to running his excellent establishment. We truly couldn't have had a finer dining experience. We've filed this one under "Will Return," and you, dear reader must try it as well.

Underrated. A hidden gem. Delicious. Order their menu of the day. Best thing was the chicken wing appetizer made fresh from tandoor. The entree was surprising filling and delicious as well. Dessert was a nice, light way to end off the meal. Glass of French rosé was also a nice compliment. The service was no where near as good as the food. Food took too long to get to the table. We had 3 different waiters serving us throughout the dinner and none of them knew what was going on. When the food arrived, it was banged on the table. Shame. Overall, despite the subpar service, the food & price are 1000% worth returning for.

Solid! I had lunch and dinner here recently and here are my thoughts. The two standouts: - The flaky paratha is amazing. So buttery and crispy and the sauces are delicious. - The knaffeh is also spectacular. The rose water is such a nice add. I'll be thinking about this one for a while. Lamb tangine with charmoulla is pretty good! The lamb is super tender and juicy. The sauce was pretty good and not spicy at all. My friend got the lamb couscous and it was much more plain, and we preferred the tangine more. Would be curious to try the other tangine sauce options though. I've also had their Moroccan eggs which are solid but nothing special. Same with the baklava.

I'm sad to admit I never knew this place existed. This Moroccan spot lacks the flash that you see with other St Mark's establishments so it's just been invisible to me all these years. We came across it thanks to a Google search for food in the area, and are so glad we did. The old school decor and delicious food made this the perfect spot to visit on a hot summer afternoon. Don't miss the amazin tagine!

Me and my boyfriend went here for a simple brunch and we were not disappointed! The cappuccino was delicious, and the homemade pits bread with their Moroccan breakfast was to die for. Service was relatively quick and kind, and the interior was relaxing. We went on a weekday but this place definitely gets very full very quickly in the weekends so plan accordingly!

Went here with a great friend a few months ago during lunch time. It was packed for the middle of the week, so thats a great sign that the food would be good, and it was! I ordered the chicken kebab and a side of falafels. The chicken was seasoned nicely and moist. Same for the falafels; they weren't overly fried or dried out and had a nice taste. The service was efficient and staff friend. It is a bit tight inside, so expect to be close to your neighbors. Overall it was a good experience and nice meal.

Obviously the Great Cafe Mogador doesn't need another stellar review ... but here it is. This place is easily my favorite restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. The menu and every dish is thoughtfully curated to perfection and the cooks always execute the dishes consistently well. Breakfast: the haloumi eggs are a must and unlike anything I've tasted. The French toast is also excellent. Lunch/dinner: the lemon olive lamb tagine with rice with a side of Arabic salad. The salmon and kabobs are also excellent. All the yogurt and veggie sides are wonderful and I always like to try their specials. Even the dessert is great. The staff is quick and friendly. It's always packed but they are so efficient you don't have to wait long. The ambience is candle lit with dimmed lights and it's nice to be surrounded by the clamor of people. Overall all... it's impossible not to enjoy your meal.

Café Mogador was one of our go-to places in this neighborhood pre pandemic. We went once with friends during summer of 2022 and we were SO disappointed that we swore we'd never return. But over the course of our walks, we've seen that they've been busy, so last night we decided to give it another try. Yay, they're back, as good as ever! Service was leisurely, fine with us because we got there early, around 5, for dinner. We weren't in any particular hurry to go anywhere and we'd been out walking since early afternoon. The bottle of cold water was very welcome! My husband ordered a glass of wine and we ordered our food. We shared an appetizer, eggplant with tahini, and it was superb. The eggplant was cooked to perfection, soft but with some body to it, and ample tahini but not drowning the eggplant, plus a fluffy warm pita. We wiped the plates clean! I was thrilled to see bastilla on the menu again and treated myself. Oh, so yummy. On the plate is also a small cup of broth with raisins and chickpeas. Comes with a nice side salad, slightly too much dressing for my taste, but good, with some sliced beets on it. Hubs had his go-to, the vegetable couscous, and the chunks of veggies and the chickpeas abundant, broth on the side to moisten your couscous as desired. I'm SO happy that an old favorite is back in the mix! Note: When I checked in, for some reason the location in Williamsburg popped up first and I accidentally checked in there before I realized it! I didn't even know that there are other locations, so I'll look as we travel around the City.

(G)o or no go - Go!! Quick service, cozy ambiance when I went, but have heard it gets very busy and is popular (W)hy: amazing food and curated server recommendations, it's sauce heaven! (A)ge: age range was around like 20-40s, pretty varied but also it was empty when I went on a weekday (M)enu: -The chicken tagine was so well cooked - soft chicken that comes right off the bone with a perfect deep sauce that encompasses the couscous in creamy deliciousness! Also delighted the chickpea fan I am. Serving was huge, and the leftovers were still phenomenal cold!! - Lamb tagine was also super easy to chew and bursting with flavor - would try this as my main dish next time! -The eggplant and tahinie tasted almost like buttered sweet potato - melt in your mouth good!

Strolled over and enjoyed brunch at Cafe Mogador on Saint Marks Place, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. We chose to sit outside under the cozy heat lamps, accompanied by our furry friend, a Pom, and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. One of the standout dishes we tried was the Lamb Tagine with apricots and prunes on couscous. From the moment it arrived at our table, the aroma alone was enough to make our mouths water. The lamb was incredibly tender and moist, practically falling off the bone, and it melted in our mouths with every bite. The combination of the succulent lamb with the sweet apricots and prunes, all nestled on a bed of fluffy couscous, created a symphony of flavors that left us wanting more. It was undoubtedly a mouthwatering experience. Another dish that impressed us was the Moroccan Benedict. This unique twist on a classic brunch favorite was a definite hit. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the tomato sauce had a delightful Moroccan flair. The dish was well-balanced and packed with delicious flavors that complemented each other beautifully. It was a true testament to the culinary expertise of Cafe Mogador. Furthermore, the attention to detail and commitment to quality at Cafe Mogador shone through in every aspect of our experience. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a refreshing and zesty accompaniment to our meal, and the selection of teas served was diverse and of the highest quality. Sitting in the outdoor seating area, we felt transported to an oasis of food paradise, surrounded by delectable dishes and a serene atmosphere. Cafe Mogador on Saint Marks Place is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable brunch experience. The Lamb Tagine and the Moroccan Benedict are both dishes that will leave your taste buds in awe. The combination of top-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and a tranquil setting make for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, make sure to add Cafe Mogador to your list of culinary destinations.
